What Shopify announced

On February 26, 2026, Shopify officially deprecated legacy customer accounts. Stores need to move to the new version of customer accounts. Reference: Legacy customer accounts are deprecated - Shopify Changelog

Discount Deck: already supported

Discount Deck already supports Shopify’s new customer accounts. After you migrate, your customers can still see the coupons they hold on their account page.

What changes when you migrate

Your coupon data is not affected. What changes is where you configure the display and where the coupon list can appear.
The app block on your cart page is a separate setting. It is not affected by the migration, so you can keep using it as it is.

Two ways to display the coupon list

After you migrate, you can choose one of two display styles. Use one or the other.
We built two layouts so you can pick the one that suits your store. Enable one of them, not both. We recommend the dedicated page.

Migration steps

1

Switch customer accounts to the new version

Go to Settings > Customer accounts in your Shopify admin. This is a Shopify-side setting.
2

Check metafield permissions

The coupon list reads a customer metafield. If the permission is missing, coupons will not appear even when the customer holds them.
3

Add the coupon list and adjust the display settings

Go to Settings > Checkout > Customize and add either the block or the dedicated page.
The detailed steps are on the following page.

FAQ

Yes. Which customer holds which coupon is stored in the customer metafield discount-deck.discount-code-list, independent of the account page version. Your selection of coupons to show in the app admin also stays as it is, so there is nothing to set up again.
Shopify decides the end date, so we cannot guarantee it. Please check the Shopify changelog above for the latest information. Deprecated features stop receiving new functionality, so we recommend migrating early.
Once you switch to the new customer accounts, the account page is hosted by Shopify, so the app block on your theme’s account page no longer appears. Leaving it in place causes no problems, but you can remove it if you want to tidy up your theme.Keep the app block on your cart page. It continues to work.
No. The checkout page uses a separate extension and is configured with its own steps.
No. Pricing is based on the number of customers shown in your Shopify admin, and does not depend on the display style. See Pricing for details.
Instead of an email address and password, customers sign in with a verification code sent to their email address. No password is needed. This is Shopify’s behavior, not an app setting.
