Coupon expiry notification

The setup below lets you remind customers before their coupons expire.

You can tell customers subscribed to marketing email:

• Your coupon expires in N days

Shopify Flow

There are two flows: an expiry notification trigger and an expiry notification action. Turn both on to send reminders.

1. Expiry notification trigger
   1. Sets the premise that reminders go out at a given time each day.
2. Expiry notification action
   1. Sends the actual notification at the time set in step 1.

Business requirement

Seven days before a coupon expires, send an email at 10:00 through Shopify Messaging saying the coupon is about to expire.

Variables the app provides

If you send through an email service such as Klaviyo or Omnisend, pass these variables to that service as a Shopify Flow event and you can include live values in the email body.

  • The actual expiry date and time
  • Example: July 18, 2026 00:00
• {{daysBefore}}
  • The value set on the expiry notification trigger
  • Example: 30
